Riddles for Kids

Riddles built for younger solvers, where the answer is something a child already knows: a sponge, a candle, a mushroom. Nothing here depends on general knowledge or vocabulary a child would not have met yet.

Every riddle comes with a hint written as a nudge rather than a giveaway, so a stuck child can get moving again without an adult stepping in. The explanations on the answers page say why the answer works, which is usually the part that makes a riddle stick.
